Covers the endocrine functions of the gastrointestinal tract, beginning with the hormone-producing cells of the stomach lining, namely G cells releasing gastrin and D cells producing somatostatin. It then moves to the enteroendocrine cells of the small intestine, including I cells releasing cholecystokinin and S cells producing secretin. The note ends with a brief outline of the blood supply and venous drainage of the pancreas, with the pancreatic islets mentioned only as a heading.

Refers to the endocrine functions of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract,
Gastric Endocrine Cells :
Location : Found in the lining of the stomach.
Cell Types :
→ G cells : Screte gastrin, a hormone that stimulates the secretion of gastric acid and promotes gastric motility.
→ D cells : Produce somatostatin, wich inhibts the release of gastrin and other digestive hormone.
Enteroendocrine cells :
Location : Scattered throughout the mucosa of the small intestine.
Cell Types :
→ I cells : release Cholecystokinin (CCK) in the presence of fats and proteins. CCK stimulates the release of digestive enzymes and bile.
→ S cells : Produce Secretin
