Covers the lung's shape, its parts such as the base, apex, hilum and root, and its surfaces and borders. It then gives the lobe division, the histology, and a segmentation table listing the bronchopulmonary segments of each lung. Hilum structures, mediastinal and diaphragmatic relations, skeletal topography of the borders and fissures, blood, lymphatic and nerve supply close the note.

LUNG
The lungs is a paired organ covered with the pleura.
Located in the pleural cavity.
Responsible for oxygenating blood that enters via the pulmonary artery and leaves via the pulomanry vein.
The color of the healthy lung ranges from gray to bluish - pink.
Parts of the lung:
1 Base of lung (basis pulmonis) – the concave base resting on the diaphragm
2 Apex of lung (apex pulmonis) – projects towards the cervical pleura
3 Hilum of lung (hilum pulmonis)
– a place where the structures of the root of the lung enter the lung
4 Root of lung (radix pulmonis)
– the vessels, lymphatics, nerves, and bronchi passing through the hilum
