251. Abdominal cavity
Covers the abdominal cavity as divided into superior (supracolic), inferior (infracolic) and retroperitoneal compartments, separated by the transverse colon and transverse mesocolon. It then describes the organs in the superior compartment, namely the liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, duodenum and pancreas, with their peritoneal relations and their projections onto the anterior abdominal wall. Surface landmarks, vertebral levels and the duodenal parts are given in tabulated-style detail, and the note includes one picture.
