180. Sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system.
Explains the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, starting with where its preganglionic neurones lie in the spinal cord and how postganglionic cell bodies sit in the sympathetic chain or prevertebral plexuses. It then sets out the four courses preganglionic fibres can take within the chain, and describes the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and pelvic parts with their ganglia and the nerves each gives off. The thoracic splanchnic nerves and their prevertebral destinations are traced in some detail, with a diagram of the course of fibres.
