Paediatrics and Infectious Diseases
Paediatrics and Infectious Diseases is taught in Year 4 of the Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs as a single chapter of 30 topics. It moves from nutrition, upper respiratory infections, asthma and chronic lung disease through chromosomal and metabolic disorders, neuromuscular disease and epilepsy, neonatal lung and brain disorders and jaundice, then growth, puberty, endocrine disease and diabetes. Resuscitation, heart disease, leukaemia, anaemia and solid tumours follow, then rheumatic and connective tissue disease, kidney disease and coma.
