Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Obstetrics and Gynaecology is taught in Year 4 of the Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs as a single chapter of 61 topics. It begins with female reproductive anatomy, fertilisation, the placenta, obstetric examination and the diagnosis of pregnancy, then normal labour, pain relief, the puerperium, lactation and the newborn.
