Covers the maxillary artery, a terminal branch of the external carotid that arises deep to the neck of the mandible, and its fifteen branches grouped into three parts. The mandibular part includes the deep auricular, anterior tympanic, middle meningeal, inferior alveolar and accessory meningeal arteries, each with its supply area. The pterygoid part lists the masseteric, pterygoid, deep temporal and buccinator arteries, and the pterygopalatine part covers the sphenopalatine, greater palatine, infraorbital and alveolar branches. A mnemonic is given for each group of branches.
