Compares the jejunum and ileum, the two mobile sections of the small intestine, which together measure roughly 3 to 5 metres. Covers each segment's diameter, length share, position, wall thickness, mucosal folds, vasa recta, arcades and mesentery, with the jejunum described as thicker-walled with long vessels and the ileum as thinner-walled with richer mesenteric fat. Notes that only the start of the jejunum and the end of the ileum are fixed in place.
Topic 11 of 44 in the MU Sofia syllabus for Anatomy (Internal Organs+Glands) (Medicine, Years 1 and 2). The free AceMed note covers it in 3 sections, about 96 words (1 min of reading), with 10 flashcards.
