Pharmacology
Pharmacology is taught in Year 3 of the Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs through 93 topics. It opens with general pharmacology: drug development, pharmacokinetics, receptor action and drug interactions. It then moves to autonomic and central nervous system drugs, including local and general anaesthetics, followed by cardiovascular, blood, respiratory, gastrointestinal and hormonal agents. Antibiotics, antifungal, antiviral and antitumour drugs come next, and the course ends with adverse effects, poisoning and antidotes. AceMed's notes cover every topic and are built around 399 labelled pictures and 74 tables, with recap questions closing most notes. They take about six hours to read in total, and 933 flashcards accompany them.
