Pharmacology
Pharmacology is taught in Year 3 of the Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs through 93 topics. It opens with general pharmacology, from drug development and pharmacokinetics to receptors and interactions, then moves to the autonomic nervous system and autacoids, drugs acting on the central nervous system, cardiovascular and blood drugs, respiratory and gastrointestinal drugs, and vitamins, hormones and endocrine drugs. It continues with antimicrobial and antitumour chemotherapy and closes with toxicology, poisoning and antidotes.
