Cytology

Cytology is taught in Year 1 of the Medicine degree at the Medical University of Pleven. Its syllabus opens with an introduction and methods of cell study, then moves through the cell's structure and organelles, cytophysiology, and epithelial and connective tissue. It continues with blood and haematopoiesis, muscle tissue and nerve tissue, and ends with embryology, from gametes and fertilisation to the placenta, fetal circulation and teratology. AceMed has notes for all 59 topics, about four hours of reading in total, with 157 labelled pictures and 3 tables spread across them, plus 1,082 flashcards for revision.

The full MU Pleven syllabus for Cytology, Medicine, Year 1: 59 topics, every one with a free study note (4 hours of reading), and 1,082 flashcards. Updated 30 October 2026.
