Chemistry

Chemistry is taught in Year 1 of the Medicine degree at the Medical University of Pleven. The syllabus opens with chemical bonding and the structure of molecules, moves to thermodynamics, kinetics and redox reactions, then acids, bases and pH, and analytical chemistry including titrations and photometry. The largest chapter covers organic compounds and heterocycles, from hydrocarbons and carbonyl compounds to drugs derived from benzene and purines, and the course closes with amino acids, carbohydrates and lipids. AceMed has notes for all 47 topics, about seven hours of reading built around 619 labelled pictures, with 18 tables, worked examples and medico-biological links, plus 986 flashcards.

The full MU Pleven syllabus for Chemistry, Medicine, Year 1: 47 topics, every one with a free study note (7 hours of reading), and 986 flashcards. Updated 29 October 2026.
