Latin

Latin is taught in Year 1 of the Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs through 23 topics. It begins with how Latin and Greek build medical terminology, then works through the five declensions, adjectives and comparative forms, before turning to prefixes and suffixes and to terms grouped by body system, from osteology and the oral cavity to the nervous system, ending with pharmaceutical nomenclature and prescriptions. AceMed's notes cover every topic in about an hour of reading in all, with 39 labelled pictures, 8 tables and 523 flashcards, and they break each term into its roots, prefixes and suffixes.
