Chemistry

Chemistry is taught in Year 1 of the Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of Sofia, and its syllabus runs through 42 topics. It opens with chemical bonding, molecular properties, electronic effects and isomerism, then moves to dispersions and colloids, kinetics, catalysis, thermodynamics and equilibrium. Acid-base processes, hydrolysis, buffers, redox reactions and complex compounds follow, before the organic part covers hydrocarbons, alcohols, amines, carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids, amino acids and proteins, carbohydrates, heterocycles, nucleic acids and lipids. AceMed has a note for every topic, about four hours of reading in all, built around 393 labelled pictures with two tables, plus 727 flashcards.

The full MU Sofia syllabus for Chemistry, Dental Medicine, Year 1: 42 topics, every one with a free study note (4 hours of reading), and 727 flashcards. Updated 30 October 2026.
