Biochemistry
Biochemistry is taught in Year 2 of the Medicine degree at the Medical University of Pleven, and its syllabus runs through 76 topics in seven chapters. It opens with proteins, enzymes and nucleic acids, moves to bioenergetics and carbohydrate metabolism, then lipid metabolism and amino acid metabolism, before turning to hormones and metabolic regulation, haem, haemoglobin and blood cells, and finally the biochemistry of organs and tissues such as liver, kidney, muscle and nerve tissue. AceMed has a note for every topic, about four hours of reading in all, built around 381 labelled pictures with 23 tables that compare pathways, enzymes and disorders, and clinical links close many notes. There are also 1,087 flashcards.
The full MU Pleven syllabus for Biochemistry, Medicine, Year 2: 76 topics, every one with a free study note (4 hours of reading), and 1,087 flashcards. Updated 29 October 2026.
